Im not sure if it's one dream or two but I had a dream that I was somewhere ...it was like a store.. and i was walking around to different isles.. i dont really remember what i was doing but then I remember there was a stand with multiple aquariums on it. One tank had a dark maybe black or gray octopus with white suction cups that was really cool and below that tank was another tank with a different more colorful octopus. I think it was originally in the store from the beginning but then it seemed like I was in a basement of a house. I dont know what I was doing but I broke the stand and it became unbalanced and I was holding it up with my back. Then I remembered leaving upset about what had happened. Later someone asked me why I just left like that and it was because I was embarrassed. Then I remember being at my grandparents and I had gotten off a plane. My dog. ( who is dead in real life) was with me. I had to go somewhere to clean or something I don't really remember but whenever I got to where i was going I realized he wasn't with me anymore. I pictured him crying for me at my grandparents house and thought that they must be annoyed. That's when I woke up and started crying because I miss my dog.
Dreams can be rich in symbolism and often reflect our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Let's break down the elements of your dream.
The Store and Aquariums: Stores often symbolize choices, options, or a search for something that we need or desire in waking life. The aquariums may represent feelings or aspects of yourself that you keep in check or hidden beneath the surface. The octopuses, particularly with their vibrant colors, might signify emotional depth, complexity, or the ability to adapt and navigate different situations. The fact that one was dark and the other colorful suggests a contrast between your feelings or experiences—perhaps indicating both challenging emotions and joyful, vibrant moments.
The Broken Stand: The scene where you broke the stand and had to support it with your back may represent feelings of responsibility, pressure, or a fear of causing disruption in your life. This could link to the feelings of embarrassment you experienced afterward, indicating a struggle with self-esteem or anxiety about how others perceive you.
Shifting to the Basement: Basements often symbolize the unconscious mind or repressed feelings. Transitioning from the store to a basement could suggest a journey into deeper emotional territories, possibly exploring unresolved feelings or past experiences.
Your Dog: The presence of your deceased dog is a poignant element in your dream. Animals often embody loyalty, companionship, and unconditional love. Dreaming about your dog, particularly in the context where he wasn't with you, reflects feelings of loss and longing. Guilt may be present here too, as you worried about what your grandparents might think regarding his absence. This indicates an ongoing grief process and a need to reconcile your feelings about your dog's death.
Overall Themes: Key themes in your dream involve exploration, emotional complexity, unresolved feelings regarding your dog, and navigating the pressures you perceive in your life. The embarrassment you felt may point to a larger concern about how you handle situations and how you believe others view you, particularly in times of emotional struggle.
In summary, your dream seems to embody a journey through emotions tied to loss, responsibility, and self-perception. It encourages you to acknowledge these feelings and perhaps provides a space for reminiscing about the deeper connections you have lost while also recognizing the beauty of those vibrant moments in life represented by the colorful octopus.
